Karin Christiansen is the Director of Publish What You Fund. Initially working on secondment from her post as Policy Manager at the ONE campaign, prior to that she worked for six years as Research Fellow at the Overseas Development Institute.

Her policy and research specialisms include aid, donor behaviour, aid effectiveness and reform - particularly from a recipient country perspective. She joined ODI having worked as an Economist at the Rwandan Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Agriculture. Prior to that Karin worked for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and Catholic Relief Services in Croatia. She studied Politics, Philosophy and Economics as an undergraduate, and has Masters degrees in Development Economics and in Social and Political Thought.

Catalina Reyes is our US Advocacy Officer. Catalina monitors U.S. foreign assistance and aid transparency while directly engaging with our US counterparts in a variety of Congressional initiatives including aid reform and aid effectiveness. She holds a BA in Psychology from Arizona State University and a M.A. in International Affairs from Catholic University in Washington D.C. and her background includes education reform and human rights advocacy in the non profit sector. After 14 years in the US Catalina moved to London and joined Publish What You Fund in August 2009.

Cormac Nolan is working as a Research Assistant and has an MA in Development from Dublin City University. His previous experience includes work for ProCredit in Ghana and and Sierra Leone.

Federico Pirzio-Biroli is the EU Advocacy Officer, promoting aid transparency at the Institutional level in Brussels and through European CSO networks.  He has an MA in Philosophy and Psychology from St. Andrews University, and spent two years working for Pharmasecure and Oxfam GB in Kampala, Uganda before joining Publish What You Fund in October 2009.

Christine TshibanguChristine Tshibangu is the Executive Assistant at Publish What You Fund. Christine has significant experience in the non-profit sector. For the past 7 years, Christine has enjoyed working for NGOs as a support officer and gained the experience of working with people at all levels.

Claudia Elliot is our Communications Assistant, keeping us updated with news on aid transparency, managing the website, and producing monthly newsletters. She has a BSc in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics and has worked in diverse areas of the non-profit sector, joining Publish What You Fund in January 2010.

Rachel Rank is Research and Monitoring Manager. Her role includes developing, managing and implementing Publish What You Fund’s research and monitoring products and establishing partnerships with other organisations focusing on aid transparency.
Rachel’s background is in the design and delivery of governance and institutional capacity building programmes and the production of advocacy and research publications. She has previously held positions with the Commonwealth Secretariat, the consulting company DAI, Transparency International and the Overseas Development Institute. She holds a BA in East European Studies and an MA in Politics, Security and Integration.

Martin Tisné

Now working for the Open Society Foundation, Martin is one of the founders of Publish What You Fund and was director of the London-based NGO Tiri where he led a Network of CSOs working on transparency and accountability.

 

Helen Darbishire

Helen is a human rights activist specialising in access to information (freedom of information) and media freedom. Helen is Executive Director of Access Info, a human rights organisation based in Madrid that works to promote and defend the right of access to information in Europe and internationally.

 

Alexander Woollcombe is ONE's Government Relations Manager. Prior to joining ONE he's worked for Oxfam, the European Parliament and Peace Child International as a policy, communications and advocacy adviser in Brussels, Dakar and London.

 

Sarah Mulley (personal capacity, former UKAN Coordinator)

Sarah Mulley is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Public Policy Research. She was previously coordinator of the UK Aid Network, and Chair of the European Aid Watch Initiative. She also led work on aid at the Global Economic Governance Programme at the University of Oxford.

Advisers


Our advisers are people who have agreed to provide us with advice and support. They inculde:

Owen Barder leads the aidinfo programme at Development Initiatives. He also works on a variety of aid effectiveness and African economics issues. He is on sabbatical leave from the UK Department for International Development. He lives in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

 

Mark Mark Brough created this website. He previously worked as a research assistant for Publish What You Fund, and at CNN. He is currently working as a research assistant in Westminster, and on Oxford Aid to the Balkans.
