MESSAGE FROM KARIN
This
month sees the promise of new political emphasis
on aid transparency in the UK, the U.S. and
Sweden.
We welcome the launch of the
Swedish Minister for International
Development Cooperation's transparency guarantee
and the announcement by Andrew Mitchell, the new
UK Minister for
International Development, that aid transparency is at the
heart of securing his top priority of value for
money.
In the U.S. the USAID Administrator, Dr. Shah has
said, "You should expect extreme transparency.” Despite
being able to comment on the
leaked copy of the Presidential Study Directive,
the Quadrennial Diplomacy and Development Review remains
elusive.
