AidInfo recently released a paper ‘Technical Innovation: The Opportunities for Increasing Transparency and Accessibility of Aid Data’, which considers the changing relationship between aid institutions and citizens.

The paper argues that the changing set of circumstances between people and information resources presents a unique opportunity for the international development community. The power of a disintermediated public sphere can now be harnessed in order to close the feedback loop between donors and recipients of aid, which will in turn introduce a step-change in efficiency and agency.
