Mekila joined Publish What You Fund as Research Assistant in January 2022 to work on the DFI Transparency Initiative. Prior to this, he worked with Global Citizen as the UK Global Policy and Advocacy Fellow.

Mekila is the author of the book Against the Odds and has two academic articles to his name in the Brown Journal of Philosophy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the Catholic University of Cameroon and an MSc in Africa and International Development from the University of Edinburgh. His MSc Research analysed how economic policies and outcomes in 14 countries in Western and Central Africa are shaped by the CFA franc monetary arrangement with France.
