A new report, entitled ‘Keeping a Low Profile: What Determines the Allocation of Aid by Non-Governmental Organisations’, highlights the lack of information available on NGO aid activities. The report undertakes a cross-country analysis of what drives NGO aid. It was found that whilst some beliefs about NGO aid are valid such as the targeting of beneficiaries, while others are false.
EU Aidwatch, which is a group of NGOs monitoring aid quality and quantity across the member states LINK (last year’s report) is in the processing of compiling it’s yearly report. Look out for a major section on aid transparency.
