Yesterday, Tuesday 5th October, saw the Center for Global Development (CGD), in cooperation with the Brookings Institution, release its “Quality of Official Development Assistance Assessment” (QuODA) report.

Samuel Moon and Tim Williamson at the Overseas Development Institute have written a background paper setting out possible steps to improve aid effectiveness in Uganda and ensuring the government-donor partnership remains relevant.
AidInfo launch new website
AidInfo have launched their new website, a great resource for information on aid transparency.
The site is broken into sections according to AidInfo’s main areas of work; in policy, data and technology. In each section you can browse opinions, reports and news that relates to your interests. The site includes a library of all AidInfo reports and case studies to date, with a glossary of common terms and acronyms. There is also a calendar tracking national and international meetings where aid transparency may play a part.
Swedish support for aid transparency
Swedish International Development Minister, Gunilla Carlsson, has expressed strong support for the aid transparency agenda in her response to our July 28th letter urging signatories’ continued commitment to the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI).

Obama announces new U.S. Global Development Policy
In his Wednesday 22nd speech to the UN, President Obama announced a new U.S. Global Development Policy. The policy focuses on fostering economic growth and good governance, investment in innovation and research, placing emphasis on sustainable public sectors and the provision of basic services, and holding recipients of U.S. assistance accountable for achieving development results.
