Yesterday, 17th July, the DAC released the 2010 Report on Multilateral Aid. A useful reference for official data and facts, it covers recent trends in multilateral aid and total use (core and non-core) of the multilateral system, with a special focus on UNDP and World Bank trust funds. It explores development perspectives of the climate change funding architecture, and provides an overview of the response of multilaterals to the financial and economic crisis. It also includes an update on members’ multilateral strategies and assessment approaches.

Researchers from the World Bank, Development Gateway and AidData have just geocoded the Bank’s African and Latin American aid projects. That is, they have added subnational geographical information to plot exactly where aid activities are taking place in each country. Eurodad released a new report “Conditionality in World Bank crisis-lending to Ghana” on July 29th which finds that conditions for receiving loans are increasingly “being pushed through the side door” instead of being outlined in the loan agreements, keeping Low Income Countries under the influence of the Bank.
