AidWatch Report 2014The ninth CONCORD AidWatch report, launched at the OECD in Paris last week, has found that EU aid is off track to meet the 0.7% commitment in 2015, with a current funding gap of €41 billion. The Aid Beyond 2015 report presents country progress from 2013 and concludes that only four EU countries are meeting their aid targets: the UK, Sweden, Denmark and Luxembourg.

The report also shows that the EU is off track in delivering on its aid transparency agreements. This includes both France and Germany- two of the largest European donors- who have yet to make real progress on the quality of their published aid, as we found in our 2014 Aid Transparency Index.

A key report recommendation, which we welcome, is that the EU and its member states should fully implement and deliver on their aid effectiveness commitments, in particular by publishing aid information to the International Aid and Transparency Initiative (IATI) by the end of 2014. Those countries already publishing in accordance with the IATI standard should continue improving the quality of the information they make available.
