World Bank promotes IATI as standard for aid data

The World Bank praised the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) as the standard for international aid data collection and publication at the Second International Open Government Data Conference.

Managing Director Caroline Anstey said in a speech that data formats, like the one used by the IATI, are the only way to ensure that data is fully usable by others.

She referenced geocoding projects in Afghanistan and Malawi, adding,”this kind of analysis would be even more useful if all aid donors released data in standard, comparable data formats like IATI.”
