Summary of the 2010 DCF meeting released
The final Summary of the 2010 New York Development Cooperation Forum (DCF), has been released by the President of ECOSOC, Nihil Seth. Contributions by national governments, parliamentarians and representatives of civil society and local governments at the June meeting produced strategic and action oriented recommendations for achieving the MDGs on the basis of more and better development cooperation.
The 2010 DCF was seen as the universal platform to look at development cooperation issues – including quantity, quality, allocation and accountability of aid. The key messages of the meeting will inform the negotiation process of the MDG Summit’s outcome document. In addition, a longer synthesis report on aid, entitled the “International Development Cooperation Report”, will be launched during the MDG Summit to draw together the analysis produced for the 2010 DCF, with a focus on accountability and transparency.
