Yesterday, 13 October, the International HIV/AIDS Alliance published its aid information to the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) registry.

This positive move not only serves to make their information more accessible and comparable, but also proves that IATI can be implemented by donors and organisations of all shapes and sizes. To date, there are 8 organisations publishing to IATI – Bilateral country donors, multilateral aid donors, grant-giving foundations, and NGOs.

Aid donors should be working to realise their promises on aid transparency before the High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness at the end of the year where progress will be assessed, and commitments renewed.
