Canada publishes to IATI

By Katie Welford | Nov 1, 2012 | News

The Canadian International Development Agency (Agence canadienne de développement international) has begun publishing their aid data to the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI).

Canada signed up to IATI at the 4th High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness at Busan. CIDA’s publication – including important results information – is the first of its kind from a North American government institution. It is also the first IATI data to be published bilingually, including information in French and English.

This will bring the total number of organisations to publish to IATI to 96. The US is soon to publish its aid data through IATI, raising the profile of the initiative as the best mechanism to promote transparency in the development funding.
