On June 24^th Publish What You Fund and the Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network organized an event on Capitol Hill to discuss aid transparency and the International Aid Transparency Initiative. Kindly hosted by the co-chairs of the Congressional Caucus for Effective Foreign Assistance (CCEFA), Ander Crenshaw and Adam Smith, the event brought together over 70 staffers from the House of Representatives and the Senate.

The panelists included, Sally Paxton, U.S. Representative, Publish What You Fund, Greg Adams, Director of Aid Effectiveness, Oxfam America, Lauren Pfeifer, Policy Associate, Transparency & Accountability, ONE and George Ingram, Co-chair of MFAN and Senior Fellow at the Brookings Institution who moderated the discussion.

The topics included a discussion of the International Aid Transparency Initiative, the transparency commitments by the U.S. Government, how and why this information matters to recipients of foreign assistance and the role of the Hill on the transparency agenda.
