Agence Française de Développement becomes a member of IATI

By Katie Welford | Jan 9, 2017 | News

This announcement was originally posted on the IATI website here.

Agence Française de Développement (AFD) has joined IATI as a new member, marking a huge commitment by France to aid and development cooperation transparency.

Cyrille Bellier, AFD’s Deputy Executive Director of Strategy Partnerships and Communications announced their new membership at the Open Government Partnership 2016 Summit in Paris.

AFD is the main implementing agency for France’s official development assistance to developing countries and overseas territories.

The institution joins over 70 members of IATI from across the world, including donor and partner country governments, multilaterals, foundations, private sector and Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). More information on these organisations and how to join IATI can be found in IATI’s Members’ Assembly section.

Publish What You Fund is delighted to welcome France to the community and hopes this will lead to more effective aid and improve accountability for the donor and its partner countries.
