Humanitarian transparency research series webinar

By Henry Lewis | Jul 16, 2020 | Blog, Events

Four years ago at the World Humanitarian Summit, major humanitarian aid donors and implementers brokered the Grand Bargain to address the gap in humanitarian financing. One of its commitments was to improve transparency within humanitarian response. While significant gains have been made, the full potential of more transparent humanitarian information is yet to be realised. This can only happen if the information made available is actively used and benefits local and national humanitarian responders

Over the past 18-months, Publish What You Fund and Ground Truth Solutions have undertaken a research programme to understand the information needs of humanitarian actors on the ground and the challenges they face in accessing and using data. We recently held a webinar to support the launch of our Humanitarian Data Transparency Series.

If you missed the webinar, or if you just want to go back and review some parts for your interest, we have now uploaded a recording for you to watch!

The webinar will provide you with a background to the Grand Bargain and transparency agenda, the research project itself, our findings, conclusions and recommendations, and our next steps. We have some fascinating insights and reflections from the research, and our field visits to Iraq and Bangladesh.
